Case Dash Panel Restoration

Good day. I recently started working on the restoration of my Grandfather's 1957 Case 350 Tractor. I'm almost at the point where I'm ready to pull the dash panel out, disconnect all of the cables/wires, etc. I'm looking for someone who can restore the dash panel to it's former glory. It is in pretty good shape overall but will need some scratches removed from the glass, the chrome redone around the frame and overhauled to make sure all the gauges work, etc. I'll be doing most of the restoration work myself but there are a few areas, and this is one of them, where I will really need the help of an expert. If someone can please point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thank You,

Linden Boyer

A common and expensive mistake in removing the cluster gauge board for restoration is cutting the capillary tube on the temperature gauge. The temperature gauge is a bourdon tube type pressure gauge (same type as your oil pressure gauge) which operates on vapor pressure generated by heating a vapor/liquid fluid in the thermal bulb located in the cooling water of the engine cylinder head between nr 3 & 4 spark plugs.

The gauge, capillary tubing, and thermal bulb is all one unit not to be cut or separated in any way. Remove the thermal bulb from the cylinder, coil the thermal bulb/capillary tubing intact with the gauge.

(quoted from post at 17:49:20 07/15/19) Thank you so much for the tip. I definitely would not have known to do that. I appreciate the help.

Considering the condition of your cluster gauge panel as compared to the age and view of your tractor, the cluster likely has been previously restored.

In that case it is common practice to replace the original mechanical temperature gauge, if capillary tube was cut or the gauge is defective, with a SW electric gauge using the original gauge faceplate to make it look as original. In that event the sender located between nr 3 & 4 cylinder plugs will be electric with a wire to the gauge.

If you're looking for someone to restore the SN tag shown rather than replace it, I have done many of these. I restore whenever possible. If its too far gone then you or I can replace it. Work on all brands.
