CASE 380CK/ David Brown 885 wont start.

I bought a case 380ck that has the David Brown 885 3 cylinder diesel engine at auction a few months ago. the tractor was in great shape
except the engine was locked from not being ran for over 20 some odd years. I freed the pistons and put new rings and rod bearings in as well
as replaced the head gasket. Now that I that i have the tractor back together it spins great and tries to start but all i get is a bunch of
white smoke i have tried for about a week now to get to fire off but with no luck. i have made sure the pump is bleed and the injectors are
spraying properly. i the only other thing i know to try to to pull start it which is sketchy with the hydraulic steering. so any help on
this would be great this is the first time i have messed with a David Brown engine so not familiar with all their quirks.

As soon as you get it turning by pulling it, the steering should come to life.

As to why it isn't starting... did you soak the rings with oil when assembling? You could put some oil in the cylinders.

If you haven't filled the coolant yet, you could fill it with HOT water for the first start.

A heat gun on the intake manifold will help a bunch.

ether as a last resort.
