Planting food plots

Time to put some food plots in. Disked with the 930, planted corn with the 730, and my nephew drilled in some milo with the 600.

Around here every acre a farmer plants is a "FOOD PLOT". No need to set aside usable land and call it a food
plot. The deer, turkeys, geese, bear, raccoons, and squirrels don't care where they eat.
Nice herd of
Case tractors that you have.--------Loren

Your right about the wildlife eating anywhere the crops are planted, but on my uncles property where we were planting, other than the food plots, everything has been put back into grass or CRP, mainly for grazing or haying, but also for excellent nesting habitat. Pheasant hunting is big business here and I spend most of my fall guiding pheasant hunters. So I guess everyone here who runs a hunting operation calls them food plots. I also plant food plots for another lodge I work for, about 2400 acre ranch with about 300 acres of food plots and the rest in grass or CRP. Most plots range from 3-6 acres each. It's a lot of dinking around with small plots and constantly moving from one to the other but it's all worth it come fall. My two main workers on that ranch are a 1070 and 1175.
