Case 380/David Brown 885: Injector line

Removed the CAV from the engine on my Case 380, going to try and get it re-sealed. But in the process, one of the tubes was frozen to the nut and twisted off.

The tube looks to be 3/16 diameter but is so covered in layers of old paint and grime it is hard to tell. I have searched for the part number K908173 but the only hit was "no longer available".

I think I could splice on a new end using compression couplings and some steel brake line. Does that sound like a reasonable solution?

Thanks.

You should be ok splicing that line with compression fittings. It is the leak off/return line, not an injector line, so it carries only low pressure.

I have used compression fittings on those before. No issues.

I may have a line, but would have to dig for it. The DB return lines on are one of the first things to go at a salvage yard.
