Nice looking tractor. I really like my 430's. All you need now is a nice cab for yours. Some how snowmobile helmets and clothing don't cut the mustard for me any more.

I wear rain pants, down coat with a hood and warm gloves or mittens.
A cab would be nice for the winter, wouldn’t care for it in the summer.

flatpkr, how wide is your blower? I'm not familiar with the hp rating of the 430, what is it? I've read here on the forums that a very slow reverse is needed to blow snow, what would the low side reverse speed be on a 430? Very nice looking tractor. I would imagine you've blown a LOT of snow this year. Our record February snow total is finally going the other way, 34 yesterday 45 and sun today 40's and rain predicted tomorrow. I think things are going to head for spring, hope hope, been a long cold winter in central Iowa. gobble

Reverse gear, low range, decal on the dash says 1.7 mph at 1750 rpm.

Can’t believe it looks like temp will hit 40 today.

This is a 1961 430 with the 188 Diesel engine. I think it is rated at 34hp, the blower is a 6’ Lucknow brand, made in Canada. Tractor is a triple range and I run in low range. Reverse is fairly slow but actually could be a little slower, would be helpful. Does a great job of blowing snow and no lack of power from the Diesel engine.

Suppose to get into the high 20’s today, currently this morning it is -4 below 0

Are you the original owner or did you buy it used? The reason I ask is the 188 diesel was used in the 530 and 630, and can be adjusted up to the 49HP of the 630. Not going to do that with my 430 but in a month or so I am going to do that with my 530 when I have the pump rebuilt. Extra HP will be nice pulling the haybine.

I bought the tractor used over a year ago.
I doubt I need to mess with the horsepower, seems to have plenty of power for what I do with it.

430 diesels are just tough little buggers! I grew up on a ‘66 430 diesel with a case 70 loader, it was just plain tough!
