Any suggestions if a lead additive should be used on 59 420b

All those additives are is a snake oil don't waste your $$$ On the stuff. By the way none of them even have any lead In them so not only are they a snake oil there a lie to boot
 
Adding a little Marvel Mystery Oil to your fuel would probably be as good as anything else, if you really want to add something.
 
Don' know if there is a difference but I always use the newer Dextron 4 which is a universal type ATF and covers Ford Dodge Chevy and most every other car marker. I keep it on hand all the time
 
Just send me a check once a year, and you will never need lead additive for your tractor. :)

Thanks 504, I think I may have talked to you on the phone before for one of them warranties on a car I never had :D

Hey 59casey
It depends on a few things
If you are not plowing or pulling it hard
Then no need to add anything
Ido know ( because this has happened to me twice)
If you are pulling an old engine with soft seats hard and for a prolonged period you might have trouble
Now days when I have a head worked on I have
All seats replaced with hard ones
Now you can have flames out the exhaust all day without any worries

Marvel Mystery Oil is actually light mineral oil and Stoddard solvent (paint thinner) with a drop of wintergreen or other aromatics to give its very distinctive smell. It was developed by the Marvel carb company many years ago to rectify bad gas. When asked what is in it, the company replied,"It's a mystery". It and Seafoam were developed to help clean the gunk out of old carbs many years ago. Now the products are promoted as injector cleaners. YouTube has vids on how to inexpensively make your own mmo and seafoam.
