Who the heck are you, and where the heck do you live, and what the heck does your 311 look like, and what
the heck do you want for it????

Lighten up DKase, I am sure Loren knows how to reply to a post. Glitches like this happen all the time through no fault of the poster.

I did not start a new post. The posters using modern view start new posts when the reply.
I have always used classic and I did use the reply icon. There has been a rash of this happening on all the YT forums lately, and it has been discussed in length with the moderators down on "Site Comments"

Loren's message is a reply from the old posting as I received a follow up message via E-mail. I had made a comment about how we need to save this Case from being scrapped. I still hope someone can save it from becoming a crate of cheap tools from overseas! If I had a big pickup it would already be at my place!

How did you get in the middle of this? My reply was to kevinthefixer, not ACG. It seems kevin never replies to a post, but always starts a new post with none of the information of the original post. After it happened about 20 times it gets frustrating to me! I do not remember you ever doing that.

Huh? Maybe I'm one of the "modern view" users Loren was talking about. But this is news to me, as it always looks to me as if my post is just added to the old thread. Normally I hit the "reply" button then delete the "quote" thing that the site puts in. If I start a new thread it's always for a new subject.

I just checked out the "modern" view. They have some problems there! Nothing makes sense. Posts are not shown in order, or as to replies to who even posted them. Check out the "classic" view. Much much easier to follow!

To each his own but I use modern view simply because it bumps the topic back to the top. I hate searching back through posts to find one I had responded to. Just me I guess

Again, I say "huh?" Posts are in the order they're posted, clearly marked as to who did the posting. To be honest, I don't remember why, but there was something I could easily do in modern view but not classic. This was a couple years ago when I first joined. But I'm concerned that so many of my replies are being seen as new threads when they're not. Is everybody seeing it like this? Just Classic users?

I use modern view for a quick check and sometimes reading but do all writing in classic view. If you open a post in modern view and want to view the same post in classic view go to top of the page and click on the "Classic View" link and the same post will show up in classic view, no hunting for it.

D Kase, When you see RE before original title of post, it is a reply to a previous post. The original could have been posted several days before.
I agree, Modern View has no flow or consistency to relate to who they are replying to. Just in order of time posted.
It is nice that most of us Case guys are still on Classic view.
Loren

Well, I shall try to follow Joe(WA)'s lead here, but there is certainly something wrong with the site's software that is causing the confusion. Loren, could you post a link to the discussion thread? So that we could give this one back to the original topic?

Never mind, I found it. Chris indicates that the problem lies in apostrophes and quote marks, so I shall avoid those and see what happens because I dislike Classic.
