Start of 930 CK General Purpose

Does anybody know when (S/N) the 930 changed from the 6 sp. Comfort King to the 8 sp. Comfort King general purpose ? I always thought it was the beginning of 1965 which would have been s/n 8253501. The CNH online parts website says these tractors start at 8258382. I?m stumped because I just bought a 941 CK GP with s/n 8256311. Anyone have any insight ?

8 speed 930s came out in the fall of 65. I have a chain drive 6 speed 930 built in 67. Case used all the extra parts from the six speed tractors built until 67.

I always thought they started the 8 speed in 65. Is it possible the block of numbers between 8253501 and 8258382 went to a different model than the 930. My 930 is 8261951.

Yes they did start in ?65. I know the 7-830 CK started at s/n 8253501 but I haven?t seen a 930 that low.

Should have said fall of 64 for the 65 model year.

From what I have been told, Case made one tractor for one serial number back as far as the steam engines. They must have started the year of 1965 building the 730/830. The 930's were built later in the year. There is no such thing as an 830, and 930 with the same serial number.
