Hello, i have a 1948 Case VA with standard front and i need a rear axle housing, and i have located one but the seller does not know what is came off of, before i drive 2 hours to get it, i want to give him the measurement it should be. i believe the VA VAC and VAO are the same correct?

I believe they only show one part number for the housing so they should all be the same. Axles are different length so they could be different. Where are you that you need to go that far for a housing? I think I could find 5 within 20 miles of here and there were not a lot of Case tractors in the area.

i am on the west coast central California, they are pretty scarce around here and if you find one they want a fortune for it. , i think the previous owner of my VA has shortened the axle housing, because there are welds all the way around the housing on both sides in the same locations. i havent gotten around to removing the axles yet but i am sure they did, thats why i just need the measurement of a factory housing so i can confirm with the seller. if they are cheap enough i would pay the shipping from lets say the mid west area. whatever, i was disgusted when i seen the welds.

I had this discussion on the Case fb page I have, VA/VAI and VAC are all the same, tug VAI's and the VAS are different, there is also a late housing with holes bore and tapped for eagle hitch, sorry I cant say the measurement right now if you were closer to Wyoming I have plenty of them here but I am not a shipper

I would think that in the state of Wa. there would be some housings if you did a search. Shipping would be cheaper than from say SD where I am located. Have a housing here and would ship...but with who. Fastenal does move some larger stuff here but don't know if available in your area.

Steve, Fastenal will haul it if it fits on a pallet and is strapped down,, I had a rear wheel shipped through them,, they were not what I would call economy shippers,

I don't see where anybody answered your question. My 51 VAC measures 10" from the center of those to ribs to the edge of the square end. Looks like 12" all the way to the end.
