Parade footage

Racine 4th of July parade footage from
1941.

There is some neat footage of current
equipment as well as Case displaying
some of its history, including old #1.

Gotta love old film. They're not making
any more of it.

That is some nifty footage, thanks for posting! Fun viewing with the 9? temp and snow this morning in west central MN

Thank you!! Great footage of a time when CASE was proud of their heritage, unlike today. Hey Tome Stanley!! Post this on that CASE site & see what they do with it!!

John,, I take it you mean the cih page? lol they would probly delete it, this and a few more have been put together by Andrew Nelson for the fb pages he is on, I did not know he had added them to u-tube,, some neat stuff in them,,
cnt

Tom: As you know, I never got hooked up w/ F'book, but if you think it will give CNH a rash in their ash to have this on their site, go for it!!

Great footage, but the music (76 Trombones) had not been composed at that time. The best evidence I have is that the Broadway Musical opened in 1957.

Lol. You caught me. All the footage was silent, so I added some audio I thought would seem appropriate. Next time I'll have to some more vetting of my soundtrack.

Very enjoyable. Must have been made only a few years after color films came out. Don't know what year color films started, but the Wizard of Oz was in color in 1939.

I agree. That was the main attraction for me. The rest was just window dressing. ( But cool window dressing none the less)

Next is curious in that it looks like a 42 SC, and Flambeau (A-6?) Combine that says 42, although footage and other models all indicate 41 year
..... ....

41(or 42?) LA

the rake is a model 170
baler is a NCM
combine is a model "M"
the 42 SC has a model "G" or "F" combine
I think thats correct,, I will do some digging

Good question. I found Kodachrome was introduced in about 35 or 36 and was intended for home video and slides. I have seen a lot of old home videos surprisingly in color, and that is what this is. (The stick footage has no sound)

Wow! Nice work. There wasn't much to catch on the M to guess that. I thought that Flambeau combine looked wrong for an A-6, but maybe larger than I expected (taller) for an F. I'm guessing on G. I'll see what you think.

It's almost like you know combines, lol

In the '40s and '50s my father shot a whalegut load of slides. The KodaChrome ones still have pretty good color; the EktaChrome are all red, no green or blue left at all. Guess it makes no difference now, neither type is being made any more.
