Man I have the best luck 1070 PS Control Valve issue

Yesterday I was moving some stuff in the cab of the 1070 as I am waiting for O Rings for the Control Valve. As I looked at the floor I noticed what looked like a check ball. Having cleaned the floor entirely before I started I knew it was not there before and had this sickening feeling that it came from the control valve. This morning I was looking at a picture I posted on here and now I am sure I know where it came from. I think it cam out of the hole I circled on the included picture. The sickening thing is now that I am reasonably sure where it came from I need to find the spring and retained. Any thoughts on this wonderful developement?

normally they lay on the top underneath the valve. look carefully before you wipe it down, there is a spring and retainer as you will see in another hole in the valve, they are the retard check ball assembly, Im bettin if you search you will find the parts, I know my local dealer has 5 of the retainers in stock as I just bought one several months back.

As a dealer, we found a lot of those retainers did not hold and when disassembling the valve, the retainer, spring, and ball, fell out.

Had the same problem when I resealed the COM control valve on my 611b but I found all the parts.

I wrapped the holy iron around the valve body to hold the springs and balls in, set it in place and started the bolts, then pulled the strap out and tightened it down.

Thanks for the responses. At least it's good to know this is a common problem. Haven't got back out to the Quonset to look for the spring and retainer yet. Busy working on my honey do list.

It looks like mine came out when I sat the control valve on the floor of the tractor so I could climb down the steps. Found the spring pretty much right where I found the ball. And as mentioned above went to the dealer to get some O rings and sure enough they had the retainers as well. Saturday is supposed to be decent so Hoping to get it back together then and fingers crossed it works as it should.
