This question has been asked before I’m sure I have a 1949 LA Case that has never had a battery since I bought twenty years ago has a good magneto starts with couple half revolutions on crank but I’m getting older not so easy to crank starting a restore and want lights to work so installed some new gauges a new starter switch new wire from regulator to hot side of starter switch through ammeter now ready to connect battery to see if starter will work believe to be positive ground but ends have been replaced with a universal battery clamp at some time both same size so not sure on polarity
