hydraulic leak 1070

Trying again
I'm looking at a cabbed 8 speed 1070 to buy. it runs out real well except for a substantial hydraulic leak around the lid of the rockshaft housing. with the cab on, i'm having trouble see exactly where its coming from. I wiggled in enough to see it wasn't coming from the draft control line or the draft control valve. it seems to be coming from the lid gasket or around one of the holes that linkage passes through, but I wouldn't think fluid would be pressurized enough to pump out like it is. when I say substantial leak, I bet it pushed out over a quart in couple minutes of idling while we were trying to pinpoint the source. would there be pressure at top of rockshaft housing? What else could be leaking up there. the 3 point cable was froze up and when owner got it free, arms wouldn't lift, but by this time there was no fluid in sight glass, so assume wasnt enough to lift them. any insights or idea what would be leaking that much in that area are appreciated.
Thanks

Krob there is very low oil pressure under the cover edges that lubes the rockshaft bushings. A oil leak there is possible. The bad news is I do not believe the cover can be removed without the cab platform removed or tractor split and rear end pushed out from under. I have done it both ways depending on work to be done. Either way a big job. Rod.
