pops out of high range a lot, usually while pulling the upshift lever, easy or tough too fix?

Need more info, but is this Case-O-Matic? Jumps out of High Range on the gear shift when you pull into "Direct Drive"? If that is the case, I assume grinding has been going on, and damage has resulted to the range collar. Pretty sure it requires a split.

yes, COM, pops out when you put it in high range, sometimes just pops out on take off, nothings grinding. I would guess it to be a worn high range gear,
