660 Combine Got a Small Workout

We had sunshine a couple days ago giving me a chance to run a few beans through the 660. After a couple acres I had to stop because the moisture levels are a bit high yet in our soybeans. Mother nature insists on keeping us wet and that trend does not look to change anytime soon. Sure hope things work out that so we can play with it again this fall, Rod.

Rod: Sweet looking ol'e girl!! CASE combines were the greatest combines built in my book. Anyways, I take it you don't have rocks??

Really happy to see you were able to use the 660 in the field.Very good machines.I combined alot of beans and corn with mine. And still use my 1160 also.Keep posting the great work and advice.

The weather has been lousy here also. Lots of 3rd cut weighting to be cut and baled, Foliage is off the beans and weighting to be harvested, but can't get them dry. Looks like corn and beans will be ready at the same time if the weather ever breaks and we get some sun.
we haven't been out of the 50s for a week. It is supposed to push into mid 70s this weekend and coming week. Maybe the weather window will open.

John we do have rocks, not a lot but enough to spend a couple days each spring picking the darn things. I have to give you a call one of these days also. The decals got here in good shape, Rod.

Rod,

Good to see you had some cab time in that nice 660. It's more fun having those old machines if you can actually use them IMHO. As far as the weather is concerned, we finally got some decent rain-when it is more hindrance than help. Rainy weather or rain every other day. Don

Rod, that little "660" is just a pleasure, and to take it out and let it do what it was built for. Funny, but its like you could put her in your back pocket! But, (sigh) wish things could be as simple as they were when it was built

Dan,, as you know they were the "smallest" SP Case made but they really have a Big heart! My 600 rolls over so easy with the straw rack versa's turning four walkers(next step up in machine but same headers as 600/660) the difference is Huge on empty machine rolling resistance even with the chopper. I was sure surprised how snappy they are. Back to size,, my 600 is the same length as the 960 and even very close to the 1060-1660, now width is a whole other story lol. My 660 setup for corn from the factory with 18.4 x 26 rice tires and two factory grain bin extensions stands 2" taller than my 1660 does,, it also really Smokes down the road too.

Yes, in many ways, they are "little big man", not sure you remember, but we had a "600" "Bean Special" factory cab, and to me it was a treasure, and with zero dockage in edibles, it was fun to run. She did look small parked close to our "1660"s, but I even thought back then if all farms had those little machines instead of,,,, well you know
