Tilting front hood sounds like a nice idea.

May I ask, what motor do you have in that 930?

I think you may have to cut a flat plate to sit on top of the cast nose piece to bolt the nose sheet metal to. It will obviously have to be cut to clear the steering gear. Then you can make hinge eyes and weld them to the front of plate and make a matching receiver hinge plate that bolts between the starter weight and nose. Another issue is the radiator side panels behind the screens, support the radiator, so you will have to figure out an internal support system for it.
Nothing that a little pondering and cutting and welding can't solve.

Loren , thanks for the advice, when I posted the pic, the nose was already done, I will try to get some pics of what I did tomorrow, I Drilled the front casting and bolted a hinge to it then welded the hinge to the center strip, I did some cutting and welding and the rad is supported with the original brackets,I just cut the sheet metal away from them, the nose will be welded together with the exception of the grill screens, then I will bolt and tack weld the hood to the nose,I'm sure it won't be as nice as what you would do but, it will work Thanks for the suggestions Ben

Ben, My only reservation is that the single hinge on the center strut will not be strong enough, and slightest side pressure on the completed hood assy. will destroy the hinge. Not being critical, just a bit worried about one small hinge and the strength of that center hood strut with the weight of the total hood bearing down on it. I can envision a couple of gas cylinders from an older hatch back car helping to support the weight.

Loren, I like your ideas, I think I will take your advice and put on double hinges and a couple gas cylinders Thanks again

Leamington Ontario, 20 minutes from where I live. The other hood was on the tractor Ben
