Loren,

A month or so ago you were discussing eagle hitch arm repair , I just
finished several . I replaced the tubes with heavier stock and made thicker
and longer bushings as well as new pins.
Here is a before and after , the link will take you to all the steps.

I need a little more play in the lift arms on my 300. I have a heck of a time getting anything mounted on them. It ends up involving a big hammer before I get an implement wedged between the lift arms. These are implements I have been using for years on other tractors with eagle hitch.

If I had to guess, your arms got pulled in toward each other when someone put a chain thru them & pulled. Should measure 28" centers. I've corrected several with a porta power & torch.

I think mine measured 26" when I measured it. I was thinking of switching them around. I better do some measuring to make sure that would be the answer to my problem.

George, looks real good. Around here when the tube got pulled off the arm, a piece of strap iron got bent and welded around the tub and up on the arm top and bottom. Farmer fix. HeHe.
I have to repair the RH lift link on my 431T. The threads have warn in both halves, and don't hold. I had to wrap a light chain through the clevis and yoke to get through the summer.

I have one of those hitches. I like to use it for hooking up to my utility trailer. I also have a homemade tool bar the previous owner of one of my 400s made. It extended past the right side eagle hitch arm. He was missing his right eye and he said the hitch helped with pulling a gravity wagon up to an elevator drag. I never seen it used, because when I was around I was the one pulling in the loads. For a farmer who had been operating tractors since the cross engine days, he couldn't back a wagon worth a darn. A lot of his tractors had homemade hitches on the front of them. He always marveled at how quickly I could back a wagon into a spot.

I hook to the drawbar not the EH arms,, unless I have my hitch on the arms,, I wish I had one of those as well but I will use the homemade one
