Very nice save! On the injection pump, start by removing the round cap at the front, just above the timing case. The cap has two flats for a 19MM open wrench. Remove the cap, have a helper move the throttle lever full travel, wide open to shutdown position. If the rack is free it will move in and out with the throttle. The screw and shims at the rack front are used to adjust starting fuel CC delivery. You should be able to push the rack in freely by hand too. If it's stuck DO NOT beat on it, pump will need to come off to free the stuck plungers, which cause the rack to stick. Only takes one to stick and cause trouble. If the rack sticks forward DO NOT attempt to start the engine either, if five plungers are free and just one stuck the engine WILL try to run away on the five working plungers. Had that happen awhile back on a JD 4430, luckily got it shut down blocking the air system. Then had fun getting the two stuck plungers freed up..

I've been going to ask this same question except on the 500 rotary. Similar procedure?
