I am done repairing and adjusting this baler. The real test will come with running some hay through it. The test runs here it the shop look good. Having sat for years and needing much TLC it would not tie a knot when I first checked it. Rod.

Rod try to get 7200 ft balls of twine rather than 9000 FT if you can. It seems it ties better. When I used to square bale a lot I found that in later years the 9000ft twine tended to cut itself in the knot seemed to work fine when I was a kid.

Rod, you know us knotter people are a dying breed! As you probably have I have walked along side of many makes and models tweaking adjustments.
Once had a new centerfeed CaseIh that the knotter could not be cured, Case sent me a new section complete, worked great with a minimum of adjusting, evidently there was a problem with the casting or something that they were aware of. Baler went on to bale many years without incident.

Rod, I know you have to be a master at adjusting and repairing. Maybe you sharpened and shined. I'm probably nit pickin with this post. LOL

My check list includes the following. The twine needs to slide over slick/shiny surfaces everywhere. Is the end of the needles in good condition and shiny where the twine wraps about 180 degrees? Is all of the twine's contacts notch-free all the way back to the twine box?

Are the knives sharp and shiny where the twine will touch? Are the knotters shiny where the twine needs to slide? Will the twine tensioner shine up and loose tension?

Certain aspects of the timing are not adjustable---worn gear teeth---worn keyways---worn pins and their holes---etc. No doubt you checked all these and made repairs unless repairs were not available.

Tom: You lived next to that nuke plant too long. Taking Old Abe & the bold script away, & replacing both w/ that puss squirrely script is like taking the MACK Bulldog of a Mack Truck hood & replacing it w/a golf ball.

Rod, you can run it thru tieing cycles and everything else in the shop, BUT you will never know until you run hay thru it. Type of hay, moisture content, typ of twine and the condition of the bale chamber will all effect the overall performance.
Did you sandblast the knotters???? There is no paint on them.
Loren

New Case logo should make it a 1970 or newer.

If you have trouble I will bring over the 200 and pound it out for you! My NCMT baler is a little further from field ready as the Wisconsin hasn't run in several years.

Got a 140 in the same condition....the Wisconsin engine is the limiting factor.
