Good Morning, I have been a follower of this site for some time but today I need advice. I have a Case 731 (1965) with hydraulic problems. Baled 50 rolls for the day, came back next day can not get tailgate on bailer to open an inch. Lift arms work but remote to bailer nothing. Changed filter checked oil level still no change. I am broke down in the field and need help. I have a a shop book it talks about flow meters and such, of course i do not have any of this. I need some one to point me in the right direction for a start so i am not wasting time and money. Never had any trouble before with hydraulics shut it off for the day came back and now it is not working. Maybe some one out there has had same trouble that could advise me. Thanks,,, J. Nestor

If the lift arms work dose this mean the hydraulic pump is ok and it is another issue?

It could be as simple as a coupling has wiggled loose and not allowing flow. uncouple and recouple. as said try switching circuits.

Check your pressure at the remotes, switch the 2 hoses around, switch to the other remote, and feel the hoses to tell if there is pressure on one or both hoses. Make, model baler? What pressure does the baler require? Are the latches opening?

Is there any way to test to see if its a valve or any way to test to see if its the pump?

Like I said above, check the pressure at your 4 remotes.
