I have a David Brown 880 that I need to remove the crankshaft pulley so that I can get into the timing chain. I am removing because previously I have replaced the fuel filters, fuel lift pump, all of the fuel lines, i have had the injectors tested as well as the fuel pump. It originally stopped hard while I was bush hogging and wouldn't run since. It will run if I spray ether but only until the ether burns off. So it is definitely a fuel issue. My last guess is that it is a timing gear/chain issue. So back to my original question. How do I get the pulley off? I have removed the nut and I went and purchased a puller tool but it is not big enough to accommodate the holes on the pulley also the tipped end will not fit into the center pulley hole to push it off. Is there a specific puller I should be using?
