1952 case SC 2 ea differential brake oil seals 3 5/8 dia. S/B installed back to back 2 on each side. Don't seem to be any seal installers that size in town is this an oddball size. Are there any other options available?

Thanks Byron

Just want a clean Install I guess that's a 1/8Th .125 difference. then divided by 2 1/16Th .062 that's pretty darn close if I did that right.

Thanks Byron

3" sch 40 is 3 1/2" od. should be close enough. Between pvc pipe and couplings you can come up with about any size. If it is a real critical size you can always get a reducing bushing close to the size you need and turn it down in a lathe. Lee

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see
Its on the differential brakes same seal as the axel requires 2 back to back on each side like the axel seals.

Byron, are these behind the brake or out on the axle. I've done D and S both on the brakes. Dick

Although I haven't installed the seals you are speaking of I have installed a lot of seals on a lot of different things as a heavy equipment mechanic. If the seal is a lip seal with a garter spring I like to use a little grease on the garter spring to insure that the spring doesn't get out of place on installation. I also keep a bunch of old bearing races of different sizes to act as an installation tool as I never like to tap on the seal directly. The pipe idea as above is always a good option as well.

Cut off a piece of suitably sized ABS or PVC pipe. Lay a piece of steel or 2x4 across it to hammer against . I've used this method several times , very handy when you have a long axle to deal with ....
