First tractor - 1945 Case SC

After wanting a tractor for several years, I finally bought a really nice Case SC. It was sandblasted and painted 10 years ago and runs fantastic. I have a list of small things to do to it, but it runs and drives great. I'll have plenty of questions, but for now, here's my tractor.

You put a lot of work into this, and it shows, it was nice of you to share with us

(quoted from post at 16:00:29 07/11/16) nice looking.
I'm not really up on my cases' but I don't see any 3 pt arms but it does have a PTO
Unfortunately, this early SC does not have a hydraulic pump.

Also, I understand I want to use a straight 30W oil. However, there's not a lot of choices. What do you use and where do you get it?

Most auto parts stores or Tractor Supply type stores have the straight 30W. If you are not going to be pulling it hard all the time you could also use a 15W-40 oil. They are fairly forgiving. Bob

I'm not sure what ppg 70138 is. The ppg number for Flambeau Red should be 71282. The SC is a nice handy tractor and has the grace that a dc lacks.

The tractor is now all re-wired. A new battery will be installed tonight. The new gauges haven't yet arrived. The water pump is removed. The new one will be painted and installed tonight.

A couple questions:
1. What sealant would be best to use on the water pump? I have silicon, anaerobic sealant (518), and black Permatex.
2. What's involved in replacing a rear axle seal? Oil is dripping onto the wheel.

I see it has the Motor Lift, precursor to hydraulic lift. It was driven by the PTO. Their brochure said it lifts and lowers the mounted implements "but they don't drop". It was actuated by a touch of your heel

The device works, but none of the linkage is there.

(quoted from post at 04:50:48 07/16/16) The SC is sucking the battery dead overnight. I mean TOTALLY dead. What could be drawing on it?

You may want to start a new thread at the top I've never seen a drawing for a 12 volt conversion on a SC. Id like to see one myself.
