Finally got some planting done today. Been raining just enough to keep us out of the fields. Got the peas/barley planted for forage and as a cover for alfalfa. Hopefully get the corn planted this weekend. The video is Jeff's 2394 that I overhauled the engine on a couple years ago. I'm still kinda amazed every day it runs without coming apart. Sure does run good tho. Lol

Jon, Looks like the ground and planting is moving along. Here in Northern Ohio NO crops or ground worked yet and calling for cold wet weather this weekend. Jerry

Good to see you can make some progress Jon, sounds like frost is likely tomorrow night. Some corn up in MN, could get nipped a little by frost. Rod.

How much rain did you get Rod? We got 1.5 inches. The bean ground that I have to plant to corn is pretty muddy especially close to the waterway's. I see there is water sitting in the buffalo wallow. I put my Oliver 4-16 on my 830ck to plow a small field where I wintered the cows. I pulls it ok in 3rd until I hit as spot where a feeder was and then it stops and spins. It's plenty sticky below the surface yet and our ground doesn't spring plow well. It turns into rock hard lumps that don't break up until we get a good rain.

We had 1.7 at home and 2.7 at the farm. I know I am going out on a limb, but I predict our corn yields will not be anywhere close to last years, LOL. Rod.

It hasn't been very good weather for corn so far. I always like to be done by the 10th. It's going to take some nice weather to get dried out enough to get going again. Were certainly not lacking for moisture at this point. The cold is holding up the hay and pasture. I'd like to get the cows out on grass, at least the asparagus is coming up! We went to look at the 930 in the photo ads yesterday and there is alot of corn up east of Marshall. I guess we will put a clutch in the 1650 Oliver that I bought in April as long as the weather is crappy. At least the sun is shining today!
