What would fixing a 2590 park gear involve? I am sure the tractor would have to be split, does the powershift have to be removed? Trying to an idea of the cost of this repair.

I fixed it on my Case 1370 from behind by removing the PTO.
It was just a "KEY - woodruff" that was broken.
Do you have any repair manual or parts catalog so you can se what it will look like in there?
If I get your email I can send you a shop manual if you dont have it.

drain the oil take the pto back plate off then crawl up in there and drive the roll pin out then drive the pin out the freeze plug in the axle. Took longer to drain the oil, than it did for the rest of the job.

not that hard to do , remove rear cover after draining oil , the you can see whats the problem but you shouldn't need to split the tractor

Yep drain the hyd oil, good time to change it anyway. Remove the drawbar support and remove the pto housing. You can order a pto gasket for a 1370 if you want a gasket.
