Did 830's come with an option for a 2 speed PTO? Tractor Data shows a 1000 option, but I was sure that all the 830's only had a 540. Any thoughts?

My '65 830CK had an option of a 1000rpm pto. That's in a sales lit piece I have. It was not available on the Eagle Hitch models

Parts book does not list two speed like 70 series, but shows 1000 rpm gears and output shaft as an alternative to 540.
We tried to find a set for ours, but were unsuccessful. Would still be interested if anyone knows of any.
shaft A21526
44t gear A21288
26t gear A21287
These parts are for an early eagle hitch 830, Later CK830's are different part #'s
Some where on here there was a discussion about putting a 70 series pto in an 830.

If you have a CK model I have an adapter kit that will allow you to install a 2 speed PTO from a 70 series tractor. E-mail if interested.

I have always thought us CASE guys should come up with something to recognize Darrell for coming up with that idea for a swap. No one else that I know of has tried that and succeeded. Darn nice to have these innovative guys on this forum, Rod.

I would love to see some details on what is included in the kit and maybe some pics. I am very interested.

thanks

I bought an 830 in New Zealand in 1966 and it had the standard 540 PTO. The 1000 Pto was available as an alternative but not two speed. You had one or the other. 1000 PTO drives had not taken off in NZ in 1966 but did soon after. The 870 came out with two speed by dent of removing a snap ring, withdraw the PTO stub shaft and re-insert it opposite way round, with the 21 spline out. Apparently this engaged a different ratio inside.
