Pulled the top cover off this 2090 trans and wondered what the #%@& is going on here. Whoever had assembled this had to know something was wrong with the gear alignment. Turns out the front and second from the front gear spacers where just switched, but how could someone over look this when finished assembling it. Well, looks like I have to take some more of this tractor apart. Rod.

Hi Looks like my local Green dealers put their top man on it. From some of the things I've looked at. Then put back in the right order from looking at the parts page, to get the alignment right on pulleys and some other stuff, after the customer got it home and found it wasn't right. Looks like these parts are the same as what my dad said about his piano playing skills once. All the notes are there just not in the right order! L.O.L. Regards Robert

I'll guess you will replace the two gears? It looks like there is enough wear on them that they will only ride on the center 25 percent if you brought them back inline.
What was the tractor brought in for, gear noise or something else?

Well Rod, I think "common sence" is a lost trait. Now-a-day if it fits, button it up. There are not a lot of older seasoned mechanics working in farm machinery dealerships anymore, If a cumputer cant diagnose and walk a mechanic threw a repair, he/she is lost in the world of the senceless. Loren

Today's Featured Article - It's Alright Where It Is! - by Anthony West. I have a tale of a different kind to tell. Whilst rooting in the hedge bottoms this week I had cause to visit Chapel lane Farm, the home of an eccentric gentleman by the name of Austin Kendall. I had heard rumours that an old Case Model C was languishing away in the back of one of the outbuildings there. So off I went in search of what would turn out to be a very rare and unusual tractor. Mr Kendall is an excitable chap to say the least. He is amongst the last of a dying breed of farmer who
