I have a chance to buy a 970 with cab. It has power shift problems and is headed for the scrapper if I don't buy it. I have not seen the tractor lately but the guy says the engine runs good and has a turbo. The rear tires are 18.4X34 and are almost new. He is going to sell them on a consignment sale.
I don't need any more projects but hate to see it scrapped. If someone is interested in all or part of it Email me.

If the guy was going to hire it fixed I can see parting it out. Cost more to hire fixed than its worth

Whether for product liability or because the aftermarket parts and labor business is lucrative, this concept is disturbingly prevalent. Fortunately when you step into your shop and make that jump 50 years back in time to work with your old tractor, this concept goes out the window. Even so, when it comes to the charging system, people quickly revert to this idea and start replacing the major components one at a time until it works. The reason you don't find any decals in your replacement set wit ... [Read Article]
