Yesterday one of my old high school classmates was hanging insulation in a new building when one of his helpers shot a staple into his finger. Bill is a little stingy, so he brought the kid by to see if I would remove the staple. It was buried in the bone in his index finger, with one side of the staple on each side of the last joint, effectively freezing the joint. I didn't ask how long the staple was, but it was buried full depth. The kid wasn't overly bright, but was certainly tough because he should absolutely no pain. Needless to say, I told them it was no job for a vet!
