hydro filte rcleaning

would it ruin my 800 hydro filter if I dumped it in hot soapy water? what is best way to clean and renew ? when is the old one done ?

Just remember oil goes from outside in to center so i dont think it would be good to do that cause of getting dirt -metal chips on inside that you might not completely get removed. They would than when put back on tractor be put through hyd pump.

I always clean them in gas
