Behind the front idler bracket there are two nuts, one smaller locknut and a large adjusting nut, turn the big nut till the track is adjusted and tighten the locknut. sounds easy huh, they can be a bear. Keep us posted.

The big nut will be rusted TIGHT! lots of oil on it. Work it back on forth cleaning rust as you go.

does the nut turn the threaded rod that goes through the round disc that has two holes in it just ahead of the spring? thanks john cummins

once more thanks again. Am starting to get the picture, wondering how far the threads go into the wheel assy before running out of adjustment. what holds the threads secure in the round plate just ahead of the spring? thank you John cummins

In other words do I need to make a spanner wrench of some to hold the round disc that is on the other end of the nuts? thanks John cummins

This might help you out. The adjusting bolt head locks into the end of the barrel so it can't turn and the big washer just floats on the Adj bolt. The earlier machines had fine threaded bolt and adjusting nuts. Later they switched to course threads. You will more than likely need a rose bud to free the adj. nut. You can look in the fork behind the idler to see how much bolt is protruding.
