I called to get a head set from Case for a 2290. No longer available, all individual pieces now. $91 per head gasket, $12 an exhaust manifold gasket etc. This is a page from JD, they started doing this years ago with certain things. Victor was the oem gasket for years for Case, at least with the direct injected engines. Word on the street is Victor is backing out of the Ag & industrial side. I found this Victor set for $200. The last pic is some off breed gasket, there're junk. I tried them 3 times, all 3 leaked externally. If your head gaskets aren't Victor or Fel-pro I wouldn't use them.

My thoughts of those gaskets exactly! Every time I tried them when they came with a kit they leaked. I would grumble to the kit supplier and they would tell me they had never had trouble with them. They always replaced them with Victor, or Fel pro and they sealed properly as you stated. It is one of those kits that has a 336 in my W14 leaking antifreeze into the oil now. I will find out if it is the O-rings some time this spring. Have you had any O-ring failures? DK
 
Whose kits supply the questionable gaskets?



The 90 series hood sure makes it easier to get to that back head than a 70 series.
 
RG, I won't throw anyone under the bus here, but I know they
where available from a couple places. Funny thing is after I
found they where a problem I asked for Victor gaskets & the
Victor set was cheaper!! Ya gotta love the flip hood.
 
Eric, I could not agree more. I was talked into using those China Junk ones once, never again. Yes when I complained of course no one else ever had a problem with them, bull. When I order a overhaul kit I insist on Victor or Fel Pro. Rod.
