My best friend just purchased a nice used 2390 from a neighbor He called me last night wanting to know if this is normal I go over and in 2nd & 3rd powershift you are physically unable to push clutch in I know you should shift backwards by hand to 1st then stop but you should be able to push clutch in any gear our 2290 & 1370 do not operate this way in the 23 powershift shfter moves very hard & prevous owner said it just needs a new cable I have never seen so any help or thoughts would be great can call after 2pm thanks 920-213-7070

Disconnect the cable from the linkage on the control valve and try it. If it still moves hard replace the cable. If it moves easy you know its the linkage on the valve or for some reason the spool is moving hard in the valve. My moneys on the cable, Rod.

I forgot to mention if the cable is disconnected at the valve the clutch pedal can not push on the cable. Just manually by hand shift the linkage on the valve or push on the cable and you will soon be able to figure out where the trouble is, Rod.

Haven't gotten a chance to look at it we are going to today.Tractor has not been used all week. I will post with findings. Thanks a lot Rod Mike
