Dealership Auction

Well I went to an old dealership auction today thinking I would be able to buy up some old manuals to fill in what my pa doesn't have, and also some old parts that he would have around. Well things didn't go as planned and I ended up finding out Don L bought a bunch of the parts pre sale and is also going to get most of the manuals as well. (Sorry Don;)!) But the day was not lost, I ended up coming home with a SC4 and a SC for parts and also a 2 row case corn planter that I really didnt want but when they couldn't get a bid after $2.50 I raised my hand and got it for $5! Along with a few other smaller things at the sale it ended up being a pretty good day! I am excited to get the SC4 up and running, which I don't think it will take too much to do so but to drive it I will need tires all around and it also needs some fenders so if anyone has any let me know! Actually I only need one since I picked an almost perfect one up for $5! I hate to say it but with a better auction company there would have been no way I could have afforded everything I bought since it was mostly local people around and they obviously don't know what some stuff was worth. It was a buyers sale for sure. Running DC with loader only brought $550 or $600, I quit at 500 since I had the SC4 already, and the parts SC I couldn't let that go cheap since the grille is perfect and there are enough parts to donate to other causes that I thought $125 was worth it. (Block is cracked and locked up and the tranny is stuck in gear) Hopefully I will have some pics up in a day or two.

I never seem to make the "good" auctions. A lot of scalpers around here, buying for resale on craigs list. gobble

Good for you for finding some bargains at an auction. That doesn't happen often. Could you tell me the name of the dealership to add to my database of Case dealers? Thanks, Don

I couldn't tell you the dealership name for sure since they have been closed since I can remember (I am 30), and the owners son still did repairs and tires and stuff until recently and is now semi retired. I don't know if it was Senger Implement or not. I didn't even see any literature with the dealer name. I can ask my dad and he maybe would know. But on another note Adamski chevrolet/ case was a case dealer that closed in Killdeer ND back in the late 70s-early 80s if you don't have that one in your registry.

LJKCK where about in ND are you from the towns your listing are close to the family homestead in DUNN CENTER ND. I can still remember when we would go for a visit and loading up for the trip to KILLDEER to hit the Gambles. The best was during the town festival watching the bed races down main street.

Born and raised in Dunn Center. I also remember the gambles store as a kid. Where abouts would the homestead be?

Here's what I remember from the 1970's. Drenth Imp.,Lismore MN. Strom Power+Equipment, Worthington MN. Koob Imp., Slayton Mn. Pipestone Imp., Pipestone MN. Case Power+Equipment, Marshall and Madison MN. Juber Imp., Melvin IA. Tri-State Equipment, Sioux Falls SD. Kalash Imp., Windom MN. Those are the ones I can think of now, Rod.

Dang it, I wish I had seen the listing. I"m up in Williston. I bought a "52 DC from Gregg 2 years ago. Did they clear out the yard?

My great grandparents were McConolls. My G G pa was the black smith in Dunn Center. Cousins owned the hesston dealership. Aunt and uncle were the Eckelburgs. What happen to Granfords Garage? It"s been 20 + years since I"ve been there.

these parts??? Greg called me weeks ago on this. That darn SC4 showed up at the sale a day before the sale, not listed on the bill. If I knew this, I would had brought the flatbed....

chek your list for Shaffer Tractor co , New Albany Indiana ,.they went out about 1969,... Dad liked Alvin and his bunch a lot ,, and they helped him a lot too

Its standing but I wouldn't think for much longer. Pretty bad shape. I guess it is a small world!

Dad and I were visiting with Greg at the beginning of the sale and said a guy came and got a load of parts from him. I was a tad upset at first because I thought a guy could have found some good stuff but then he dropped your name and I was less upset because they went to a fellow caseaholic. It was probably for the best since things were pretty cheap, especially things/tools that people didn't know what they were for. As for the manuals I believe only 1 or 2 of them sold at the sale. I know a few that were sold before hand also. I would have loved to offer him what he had them reserved for but I figured I spent enough money already and my dad has quite a few of the same manuals, just not in as good of shape. Are you getting the rest of the parts? He had a bunch in the back that he didn't sell and also a couple of signs that I would pay good money for if I could get just one of them. As for the SC4 I believe they said they had a phone bidder from Wisconsin and that person and myself were the only ones that bid on it as far as I could tell. Greg told me that the tractor that brought the most money was one that he didn't even own! If you do come back this way for more stuff let me know I could come over and meet you. Did you get a chance to look at the corn planter by chance? I know nothing about it as far as model or age, all I know is it is a case and nobody wanted it. Also if you have a lead on some clamshell fenders let me know! Feel free to email me sometime.
