2470 remotes not working

I have a case 2470 that steers well and runs through the gears
well. The problem is that it has 4 remotes and they are
sluggish or useless unless I move two of the levers at the
same time. Then they will lift the implement as though there
was no problem. Issue is that I have to let go of the steering
wheel to lift the implement! I would suspect the pump but it
steers well and lifts implements when two levers are engaged
in opposite directions. I would suspect the remote but all four?
I appreciate any suggestions on how to start the
troubleshooting process. Thanks.
 
dwag has it wright. You have the hoses from the lift cylinders coupled to both circuits, rather than each circuit. Switch one coupler in each pair and you should be good to go.

Same thing happened to me when I first hooked up to my 2870.

It looks like the remotes should be like this:

W X Y Z
W X Y Z

But they are arranged like this:

W W X X
Y Y Z Z.
 
I had a 2470 for over a decade and always thought that layout was weird. Extremely hard to move the levers as well, so I added an extension to the one I used the most- added about 8 inches to it. makes it easier to find without looking, as well.
 
Thanks for the replies. That gives me some confidence. I looked at the plumbing and there was some twine on the linkage and there is a half inch hose between remotes that should probably not be there... I was worried that someone may have used the pump for a continuous flow application and overheated something. You all were right though, I was hooking up the implements to the couplers directly below instead of to the side. It is still around 32 degrees here in Alberta so I dont have anything hooked up to the tractor, I will post a follow up when I confirm in a couple weeks. You all saved me a few more grey hairs, thanks.
