Got a 730 8 speed that keeps jumping out high range so i torein to it the gear is a little bugerd up i can put in range witha screw driver the netural saftey rod at the back seems to keep it from going in like it should can that be taken out with out it causing any problems

Just went through the same thing on my 700. The range fork had slipped on the shifting rod. Slid it back a little. Haven't put it under a load yet, but when I had the same problem 30 years ago it cured the problem.

Have to remove the fuel tank and steering column to get the transmission top off.
