By no means do I call myself an expert,but has anybody tried vaseline on the rubber then prime and paint? I seek to gain knowledge .Nice paint job

Well i know it looks like alot of waste but i just as soon leave grease and silicone away from paint!! Just hate seeing paint on tires ! But i am rather picky too!!!

Shrink wrap that one would wrap a pallet with works real nice on about size wheel. Saves alot of time and tape. Just my two cents

I have a peice of 26 gage steel 4" wide. I set it on edge and pull it tight to the circumfrence of the rim and clamp it. Any thing that blowes threw, I wipe off with a rag soaked with thinner.

Painting those things isn't much fun but when done they look great! I dismount tires paint centers then outer part of rims,it's a several day process.Remounting is done by hand whith the good old bars(carefully !).How did they paint them at the factory??

I mask the rubber with murphy soap(the stuff for mount/dismount tires), when paint is cured hit it the stuff with a pressure washer.
