case 930 won't start

i"m new to the forum i have a 66 case 930 i bought from a friend before he passed away. tank plugged engine stopped blew the line out wouldn"t start after a rain i went out to work on it ran real rough missed i changed plugs, points cap wires . i got spark. afterengine tuns over a few times gas runs out of carb won"t fire thanks in advance This post was edited by axe55 at 00:23:47 02/07/13.

got it running a mechanic who works on older tractor's found the problem. . it was the solenoid on the bottom of the carb. it wasn't working. he took it off , sprayed carb cleaner, started working. i never seen one before ? i'm going to buy a new one. i never would have found. he said you cant adjust the carb? thanks john

can i clean the carb without a complete rebuild ? i had it rebuilt about 1 year ago

you say that the original problem was that the fuel line/tank plugged up. If that is the case then you may have had enough crud get thru the line to plug the jets inside the carb. that would also cause the rough running condition. I would start by removing the carb and rebuilding it and see where that gets you.
