Did the Case Dealers have to purchase these diagnostic kits or were they provided by the factory,and what was their value in that period. Just curious. Chuck

This was one of the things that put many old time Case dealers out of business. When the 500 came out Case dealers were expected to do their own diesel diagnostic and repair service and have a clean, spacious place to do it in. Many of these small dealerships were car dealers, on the farm dealers, gas stations, co-ops, etc. that never had any service facilities for farm machinery, or qualified personnel, for that matter. A lot of the dealers just gave up or were cancelled at that time. This rule could be bent if you sold a lot of machinery however. Don
