My uncle had a 1010 years ago, but it was a 6 cylnder engine, maybe it could be powered both ways? My cousin helped us finish harvest one fall with it, ran like a champ the first day, second day he couldn't get it to run. He was good with wrenches, but when dad asked if he filled it with gas, all he said was "OH SH!!". He pumped it full of diesel when he quite the night before!!

the first two years of 1010 production had the 6cyl Hercules 289 motor as std equipment, they could be ordered with a 284 gas or 301 dsl Case engine as well, I have two 1010's and 2 1000 with the Herc, great engines and not bad on fuel in 1965 they went to the 318 V-8 Chysler that was the industry's first V-8 powered combine, this is the early colored lit cnt

both of my 1963 models were "prepped" for hyd reel lift also Dan, but my lit from that time does not show it as a option, both of mine do have hyd reel lift that has been added with a kit, I have the installation manual for the Attachment dated 10-63, I am sure yours and both mine were built before then so starting in 64 year my guess is you could order it as a factory option,,, the plot thickens LOL tom

Thanks for the pic CNT. That must be the hose sticking out the front beside the return elevator dump because our 1010 didn't have that. I'm surprised to see the header throwout clutch was an option. I thought they were standard equipment because I've never seen one without. I also like the "walk around platform for easy check of engine and fuel tank". They must be refering to the fact that you had to crawl down the front ladder and "walk around" to the back ladder to get there. Case always bragged about the easy access but always ignored the fact they had that dang brace rod for the unload auger in the way. It was always too high to jump over and too low to crawl under. They came so close with the idea of convenient access but didn't quite pull it off.

I like the Eagle on the steering column! Later 60 series didn't have that.
