If i bore a 400 block to fit an 830 sleeve, will the stock 400 head gasket still work?

what is the id of the fire ring? i don't have one to measure,you can go to 4 3/8 bore or more with a stock gasket in a d series

No, you will need to use one from an 830 to get the proper compression ring diameter. Did that when I changed my 930 to 504.
