Tom ,what happened yesterday is what should have happened. Not to take away from your actions,,on the contrary... YOU did the job. You got it done. .......why didn't you sit on your arss and wait for government help? Everyone reading this knows why ...and thank God ,this country has more like you And hard working Americans that are reading this then ,,others that wait and expect help. Thanks guy's, I am no hero at all like you say I just did what was needed plain and simple,,, what I do regret is that I did not take my camera and get some "action" shots, then today I remembered I HAD my cell phone but in truth I really had NO time to be taking pics LOL, a little update on it, well really it was a total of NINE seperate set fires in a 2 mile stretch of road, some 20 miles in different directions at least six more fires were set at almost the same time, we here are all very thankful no lives of any kind that we know of was lost and no homes were lost either, I just rerad in our paper that 763 acres burned in the fire that was just over the hill from the one I was on ala in al we were very very lucky to not have lost more than we did,another seperate fire about forty miles north of these burned 160 acres and 140 2000lb round bales cnt

We had one here last year that was similar. Guy tossed a cigarette out the window while pulling a trailer full of square bales. Bales start smoldering, dropping off a few flakes here and there as the twine burned through. Luckily no big fires, a few ditch fires, and small fires in some stubble.

Apparently he was driving fast enough that he didn't see or smell it...

I appreciate our rural fire dept, but we do what we gotta do. Can't wait around twiddling our thumbs for anything when things get tough.

Glad to hear that no lives where lost as well as buildings. When these type of things happen I ask myself WHY? why would anybody do such a thing?? Weren't they taught at a young age that if you play with fire you will wet your pants!!!(thats what mom told me) besides if I had played with fire........Dad woulda "warmed my butt"! God Bless
