Combination White/Red Rear Work Light

I have a Series 830 Model 841 that has a rear combination white/red work light. The shaft that switches the light between white and red is frozen solid. The knob is also missing.
Has anyone had any experience in freeing these shafts ? I would appreciate any ideas. I have tried penetrating oil, impact, etc. It does not want to budge.
Is a new switch available ?
Thank you in advance for any of your thoughts.

I rebuilt the one on my vac years ago. As I recall the shaft gets corroded up. I took the switch out of the housing and cleaned everything off with a dremmel tool with the brass brush attachment. Very simple rotary contact switch.

rbradk,
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the help.
I have taken the switch apart. The shaft was really corroded in the bushing. Have that cleaned up and the switch is back together. Put some tuflon based grease on it to hopefully prevent the problem in the future. I could not get it cleaned up witout taking the switch apart.
I am turning a knob on the lathe so it can be switched. What ever type of knob was there originally is completely gone.
Like you, I was impressed with the design. Quite simple but well thought out except for using an alunium shaft in a brass bushimng.
Thank Again.
