I have both my steering cylinders off to put in the seal kit. Two things have come up.
First: the kit comes with one large and one small washer, which appear to be felt. The larger one goes on the inside of the gland next the the o ring, the other on the inside of the gland behind the oil seal
Question: Both washers have one side yellow, the other side gray. Is there a proper orientation to install?
Second: When I pulled the cylinder apart there is an extra large felt washer and matching o ring (same dimensions as the above ones) that was placed directly behind the end plate (with the three screws). This is not listed on the parts diagram. Is this a field upgrade by an experienced hand or not a good idea to do?
Thanks
