930 Case Diesel Power Steering

The power steering on my Case is not working right. It"s still functional, but it is hard to turn the wheel still. Is there something wrong with the power steering or maybe just a trick that will get it working properly again?

Replace the PS belt with a cog belt and tighten up the new one as tight as practical.

Check to make sure your spindles are well greased. We had a guy bring in his tractor because he couldn't turn it. We raised front wheels of the ground and it still wouldn't turn and we found the spindles were frozen do to old dried up grease.

I found the nut had backed off that holds tension on the assembly insides. You have to pull the cover off the front of the unit that is in line with the steering shaft.

If you'll do a search for 700 series steering problems you'll find the thread I started that has instructions on how to fix.
