5240 Question

I am looking at a cherry 5240 MFWD with 1400 original hours,it looks new! The problem is I asked the dealer about a new loader for it and he says the new style CIH loaders for the new tractors will not fit the older ones.Anyone have any input?

If the new Case loaders are like the newholland they are made by great bend. Lot of loader company's out there. Other option is to search for one in that time frame.

I don"t have any idea what they are asking for the tractor but you will like it,there are plenty of good used loaders for these, i have one for sale for 4200$in sw missouri, that will give you an idea what they are worth, i like the caseih 510 self leveling, very well built an w/the joy stick you free up your remotes they have the quick attach on the front makes changing from a bucket to a spike very simple(i have 10,000hrs. on my 5240)

I have 9700 hrs on a 5130 that has a Bushhog loader on it. It's been a good tractor, and will be for sale within the next few months, as we have bought a replacement and haven't got a loader installed yet. It is MFWD with cab. New Hydraulic pump less than 2000hrs ago, and injection pump less than 1000hrs ago. I would want that dealer to prove those low hours on that tractor. I found a 750 hr tractor once that I proved to the dealer that it had over 11000 hrs on it by running the serial numbers through another dealers service records. New Tach, new tractor.

The new case and new holland loaders are made by Alo in sweden. On the new holland side they are models 810TL 820, 840, 850, 860TL 870TL.

I purchased a 5250 with a Gb 770 loader a year ago supposedly 5500 hours. Dealer was a little flaky on the hours. After I finally got it home I was doing some repair work and pulled the instrument cluster. On the back some conscientious Tech had noted the hour meter had been replaced twice and at what hours. When I contacted the dealer about this I was told "we didn't know" the attorney general confirmed in Kansas you can sell farm machinery and CYA with those three words. I paid for a low hour tractor but got a 10,000 hour one. Tom
