Need landsides for an old Case MT series plow.

I'm having trouble finding these. I have the original manual for these plows, so I'm sure it's an MT series plow. The plows were purchased around 1959. It's a 3-16 mounted type plow. I even have the part number for the landside A-17858.

I went to a steel supplier and had 2 pieces of Abrasive Resistant Steel cut the right size and had holes punched in them. It takes a good punch because the steel is very hard.

I've had some parts made via waterjet recently that were very impressive. Not sure if this is available in your area but if I had something like this to do, I'd seriously consider buying the steel plate and having it cut there. For flat parts of various materials, it's hard to beat. It also leaves the edges sanded down a bit and doesn't use any real heat so it's not going to mess up the temper of anything.

Just a thought.

Nate,
If you have worn out landsides why not raid your scrap yard or a salvage yard and find some suitable 6" wide steel and weld it to your existing worn landsides. Weld in the bolts, and then weld your replacement peice to what is left of your existing landside.
I always enjoyed your posts. What's been going on out there? Haven't heard much from you lately.

A G,

What is the length? If they will fit, and you can mail them, I will buy. My email is [email protected]

Everyone else, thanks for the comments. If I don"t find anything, I will make my own. Not that big of a deal, but it would be nice just to bolt the piece right up. This plow was purchased new along with an old Case 800 in 1959 by my great uncle. So it"s always been with the family. I just purchased it from my uncle. It"s a beast of a 3 bottom plow, it weighs #896 according to the manual. I have a 730 it will fit nicely on.

Loren,

I"m still around :>). When I get this plow hooked up to the 730, I"ll post some pics.

Thanks, Nate

John came through. If anybody is looking for the harder to find old stuff, call John. He has helped me twice now.

Thanks John.
