My dad had a 1985 CIH 4694, it had the 12 sp PS, did the 48, or 49 have a 24 sp PS?? Or were they all 12, im sure they were but I was just curious.

Why didnt they put a 24 sp in them like the 23 ans 25?

Wasnt it called Hydra Shift?[/quote:e2ca5d95fc]

Don't know about the 4994, but the "Hydra-Shift" was David Brown's Powershift used up through the 1694.

Seems as the 4994 didn't use the Case powershift like the other 4wd's.

4wds ,1896, 2096, 20 and 2294 were all 12 speed. 23,25 were either way. 33 and 35s were 24 only.
