would a case 2470 trany fit in a 4490. i dont really see why not because they are kinda the same tractor but making sure.

Not sure about the physical housing itself. But the 4490 has the 90 series powershift and has different plates and clutches than the 2470. I'm redoing mine right now and they are not cheap. I would say no they are not the same due to the shifting and clutches but I am not 100% sure. I know the 70 series will shift manually but the 90 series has to have electrical power for shifting.
