30 series power steering pumps

Had the 1030 out the other day, power steering pump started pouring fluid out the front. Ball bearing junk, seal junk, and the pin that keeps the ring from spinning mostly sheared off, and the pulley grove is square from the PO running green belts from TSC in them. Has anybody replaced this pump with anything else? Looks like the Eaton pumps on old Ford cars from the 1950's. I see in the parts books the 730-1030 are the same pump but the 1030 used an 11/16" belt as mine is a late 1968. I would look in local salvage yards but whenever a 100 or 30 series shows up they either disappear or get picked clean real quick!

costs a little but I keep a complete rebuild kit on the shelf for them from Case, once i do one it will out last me just a thought cnt

Tom, didn't know they made a kit for those anymore! I was cruising the junk draws and up in the loft and found a bearing and a brand new seal. I know the pulley is NLA and it seems very hard to find one.

sorry I said "kit" but I should say not really a kit but the parts to rebuild one I just call it a kit, but no pulley have you had dealer check locater and DPNI just a thought cnt

HHHMMMM seems I know where there is a few pumps. I will also check another source I found just the other day. Need to compare the case to the unknowen to see if they interchange.

The pump on my 62 Ford Fairlane is the same pump. Ford trucks (not pickups) from the mid 50's through the late 60's are also the same. They use a larger belt. I have thought about chucking up the water pump pulley in the lathe and cutting it to fit the Ford pulley. Most of them old trucks are low hour machines. I have seen the same pumps on Oliver tractors, but then you are back to high hours.
